The Moon!

For breakfast!

For an alarm clock...

Shine bright, right through my window.

A Full Corn Moon right now.

Complete with an eclipse.

Did you know each full moon has a name, has many names?

Each name is a representative for the time of year and what seeing that particular cycled full moon means to a specific culture.

The moon's a clock and a calendar.

Time to harvest corn around here.

It's an interesting exercise to look up the various names of each full moon.

It's a history lesson into many ancient cultures.

Of course there's magic in it, too.

We can hardly talk about The Moon without talking about magic.

Life wouldn't exist without The Moon.

Seriously scientifically would not exist.

The Moon makes the ocean wave. O/

The Moon is responsible for so much.

The Moon shook the snow globe called Earth.

And Look!

The waters moved and brought forth all these creatures.

Really.

The Moon nudged the Earth, shook the celestial snow globe, and here we are... viewable humanity to a cosmic audience.

And now the sunrise.

Soft pastel blue to white to touch the horizon just the right shade of metallic orange glow to signal the start of a peaceful September day.

Perfect weather to harvest some corn.

But your ancestors knew that already.

And so did The Moon.

A potted African Violet sits on the table to my left.

I downloaded an app around a year ago to help me better care for it.

Since that time its sprouted many flowers.

At present there are three joyful blooms waving out the window to The Corn Moon.

Technology will never be beautiful, but it can nurture what's beautiful.

In fact, I believe that ultimately is what technology is for: to help create and nurture what's beautiful.

It takes our recognition and concern to foster and create beautiful things.

Every flower in bloom requires the care and attention of its whole environment to become truly beautiful.

If that means a little AI and a cellphone app, that's just fine with this African Violet, The Corn Moon alarm clock, and me.

Take care, enjoy today, encourage something beautiful to grow, and make wonderful this wonderful day.
