What is language for? What do we actually do when we make or use a word?
With AI encroaching into our daily lives, these are no longer philosophical questions, but very practical ones. Ironically, we lack the language to discuss it well.
Using Science to measure what language actually is, and is for, is like attempting to bite your own teeth. We need the thing to do the thing.

What language actually is, and is for, is the main theme of The Epic I spend my days working on.
We need better language to talk about language.
People believing machines can write is proof of that. Saying an algorithm can make language is saying The Earth is flat.
We lack a common understanding as to what words are. Story is the best way to create a framework to discuss new concepts. And so I write.
A new understanding of dreams, the unconscious, and imagination are necessary to come to peace with the advent of AI.
What's the scientific necessity of Art? Colore, The Epic I work on, discusses questions like that and presents some metaphorical answers.
One should never write something they wouldn't read, so there's dragons involved... and magic.
