A great way to start the day. Thanks for joining me. And congratulations on finding it in all this Internet Dark. There's a lot to discuss.

This morning's journal entry is for the writers. We're the first group to fully understand the reality of what's happening in the world right now.

If we have to cater our words to machines in order to be read, then the written word is no longer free. An entity, whether that be a monarch or a corporate algorithm, deciding what we read or watch is the exact tyranny America is built to defend against.

People helping people build communities together is the life blood of Our Country. The only entity deciding whether or not you can read these words at all right now is a corporate machine. A source other than another citizen is choosing what information is worth sharing.

And so: Our Press is no longer free.

Because The American Press isn't free our speech is under fire as well. This truth is easily evidenced by the ways we choose to discuss modern day-to-day life. A person blaming groups for the issues of the day is an individual echoing algorithmic thinking.

Classification software rules our media and it's beginning to cloud our thinking.

If you blame The Democrats, The Republicans, The Immigrants, The Rich, The Poor; then sadly you are a victim of allowing machines to classify our Media.

People are people one at a time. Each is responsible for their own choices. That's a basic tenant of America. And something an algorithm cannot compute. Because understanding how people work and what is best for people is always best done by people who care about people.

Free human beings as gatekeepers for information is the only way to insure a free society: That's the basis of The Freedom of Press.

This doesn't mean dropping algorithms altogether. It means we need to take more human responsibility for what our software is doing.

Algorithms classify; people think. If you find yourself blaming another class for the state of our union, I'm sorry to say it but someone needs to: You're drunk on algorithms.

Unfortunately, right now, that's most of America.

Let's get back to thinking for ourselves.

It comes down to understanding how AI works, and then using that awareness to make an educated human assessment of the information presented.

Algorithms base everything on class structures; the opposite of what a free-thinking country does.

One person at a time makes no sense to AI. But groups don't make decisions, people in groups do. One vote, one thought, at a time.

Until we remedy how our information is being distributed we will continue to view ourselves as a class system and not a free country. Because according to the algorithms at the gate: America is a class and a society of classes... not citizens.

There are so many other things I'd rather write about, but the house is burning down. The nature of my work helps me see it before most would. I thought you should know: The American Press is no longer free.
