No Longer Free
We haven't lost our minds America; we just surrendered our Freedom of Press to machines. I had to show you.

Good morning, Twfw. O/
A poet shouting in The Internet Dark every morning.
Glad you found me. There's a lot to discuss.
Without paranoia or pride, but only a regard for the well-being of America; what if our Freedom of Press was actually gone? How could I show you? How could I share News of the day with my Country if our Press was inhibited, and therefore, not Free?
For over two years everyday I posted good News for my Country on every major text based social media network.
I did not, purposefully, cater the delivery of my posts to algorithms.
The results? Not a single like, heart, thumbs up, clap, troll, or comment from an American.
I could message you that your house is burning down and if I didn't cater the communication, if I hadn't established algorithmic credibility, you'd not be able to see the message.
Quite a bold statement that our Press is no longer Free; I had to show you.
Two years. Every. Single. Day. Every major social media text based application. Zero response from an American.
As BlueSky was formed in the spirit of resisting algorithmic control, a week ago I began using its metrics to play the social media game we're all familiar with. Because two years is proof enough for me and most sane Americans to see the hard truth:
This isn't Science-Fiction; machines really are running our media.
It doesn't matter if it's a despot, a robot, or a monarch: If it ain't a free citizen, it ain't free.
It helps to replace the word media with the synonymous word press to understand we're failing our Constitution.
Can you read me yet? Are we free again, yet? O/
These words are free and located with easy access on most major social Press sites.
I've got a degree in Literature. I've even taught writing. This isn't about competency or content. The headline is: The American Press Isn't Free Anymore.
But as a headline I posted days ago asked: "How Do You Tell The American Press It's No Longer Free, if The Press in America is No Longer Free?"
Two years. Every. Single. Day. Every major social Press text based app... no response.
Because I didn't cater to a machine I can't share the News with you that our Press is no longer Free.
Proof.
AI and algorithms are a big help to companies and individuals when used humanely, but a machine cannot be a gatekeeper of Press in a free Country.
The daily news over the past decade or so is proof of that.
We haven't lost our minds America; we just surrendered our Freedom of Press to machines.
Words and their power are my life and livelihood; I had to show you.
Let's make our Press free again.
Congratulations, again, for reading.
Your Friendly Nation-hood Poet,
~ Wynn ~
