Let's Be Free Again

Friday, October 09, 2026

Good morning, Twfw. O/

Peace; it helps to write it.

Now the point that Our Press is no longer free is sufficiently made, I'd like to return to the usual stations of my work. Truth, Beauty, Love, and Joy; all the experiences that make waking up in the morning worthwhile.

Without a free way to share words, writing on any topic is putting the cart before the horse.

And so I wrote.

Humbly, I hope my fellow Americans minds aren't too far machine-washed to see reality. One free citizen at a time is how we, and why we, exist.

All this talk about classes, from political parties to -isms, is the result of letting machines distribute Our Press.

We see more of what we've seen and not what's worth seeing. That's how The Press in America is no longer free.

In the terms of Our Constitution, a corporate AI machine is no different than a monarch machine deciding what News we get to view. If a free citizen isn't delivering Our News; it ain't free.

We need a 'brought to you by free people' stamp of approval. A list of metrics decided upon by all of us to place on News that never touches Artificial Intelligence.

I appreciate the new opportunities AI creates, but a democratic algorithm is an oxymoron and not a free citizen.

News touches people, so it can only ever be touched by people if it's to remain free.

If we need an algorithm's permission to read, or be read, than we have a new master and are no longer free.

We must create benchmarks for News agencies to meet. The same way a medication has to have The FDA's permission to be distributed in the US, so too Our News must meet these free citizen standards to get the stamp of approval. In this way we can know whether we're reading free human News, or just algorithmic favors to play an Artificially Intelligence popularity contest, which is what most of the drivel that reaches our phone screens now is.

America: You don't despise The Democrats or Republicans; your phone screen does.

Cut it out and let's be free again.

Back to the beautiful Autumn glow of gold in October in New England.

Thank you for your consideration.

And: Congratulations for reading me.
