Good morning, Twfw. O/

How's the day? Good somehow, I'm sure. You found Wonder Fell.

Life, lately, with all the strings of code doing their best impersonations of reality to light up cellphone and computer screens can seem dull and predictable. If the World has you feeling like a robot would live your life better than you, there's medicine every morning here on Wonder Fell.

Just a poet's journal wrote with each sunrise. The thing with poets is we see the World in a unique way and use one-of-a-kind language to express it.

AI has no idea what to do with me. I'm very okay with that.

I published some poems on some very popular social media sites. One of which has anti-racist themes. Algorithms can't read poetry right, and so I was shadow banned before human eyes could ever read more of my work.

At present, I'm retraining algorithms to show me love. It's easy for a poet. Computer code is a simple poetic structure.

There's years of daily posts of goodwill, hope, and patriotism here. All wrote in a lyrical poetic fashion. AI has no idea how to classify anything new said in a new way, so... bottom of the algorithms for words of hope, goodwill, and patriotism: Everyday.

I let the posts accumulate while keeping algorithmically quiet to help us all. One poem not computing its importance to our current classification systems doesn't make a strong or clear enough case for the hazards of Artificial Intelligence.

Two years worth of words the good people in my Country really want and need to see does.

Having an algorithm not notice you is as easy as having them classify you as important if you're a poet.

Artificial Intelligence is a video game made of words. If it's up to you in gym class to pick teammates for a game of AI, the poet in the class should always get picked first... if you want to win.

Science made a game out of language creation. How cute.

Poets have been building language itself since the start of language.

The difference between what AI does and what Language Creators do (you and I) is like the difference between playing Mario Kart and actually driving in a race.

We can learn a lot playing a simulation, but there's no substitute for the real thing.

There's plenty of talk already on the site about my ideas on AI, though. Most are quite positive. Others are red flags. Someone's got to stand-up for the reality of our responsibility to the power of language.

And so I write...

Sunrise. Overcast skies. A Summer morning like so many before. But something's new. Something always is. What's that about?

The World is always, in someway, reliably new. The word for why is: hope.

It's what makes a hero and dreams come true.

And it's in every sunrise.

And never artificial.

Thanks for reading.
