Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way. O/
Let's change the subject some.
Wonder Fell's not a grudge match aimed at algorithms; it's a point made. The point's been made.
Time to move on.
Still about an hour till sunrise...till dawn to be specific.
It's just a poet's morning journal everyday as the sunrises. Why would anyone want to read that?
The Internet took such a big part of our lives in such a short amount of history. Everything about the online world so far is made with an enthusiastic rush. But there's more to living a good life than fireworks and faster.
There's what lasts. There's quiet moments. There's daydreams in the shade. There's getting love and laughter to linger as long as they can.
There's what's Beautiful.
What's that all about?
Is the Internet a hospitable place for Beauty?
Being an entity made solely of words to orchestrate light, this poet knows it is.
But how to demonstrate it?
More than any great work of Art the sunrise is the most reliable source of Beauty shared.
The majesty of which causes even the most punctual and enthusiastic empirically minded to slow down and witness the spectacle.
Slowing down, appreciation of witness, and a sense of comfortable awe are all traits of the experience of Beauty.
How to get that online?
A house is rarely beautiful; a cathedral always is. The Internet is a house of light made of words. (Much like Life, btw. In case you wanted something to daydream about.)
So how do we build an online cathedral?
Well, the builder of such a place would have to have a love and reverence for the building and what it holds.
The Internet is a house of words. Wonder Fell is a poet's cathedral built by and for their power.
Is it Beautiful?
At times, I hope you feel it is.
Maybe reading Wonder Fell to not feel alone online is reason enough.
Every morning a fellow passenger in this spinning snow globe called Life shares some wonder with you.
The Internet can be a place for what's Beautiful because language can be Beautiful.
Perhaps it's time to hold ourselves to a higher standard in terms of what we look at online.
The Internet should always remain free. So we have to widen our understanding of what online is for by creating spaces for beautiful language.
This also means we have to take responsibility for what we post and consume. There's plenty of thoughts on that here already.
We're living in a pivotal point in humanity's evolution. Let's make sure all the best of our language is seen and not just what's visually loudest.
Thanks for reading.
Your Friendly Nation-hood Poet,
~ Wynn ~
