The Actual Cause of Humanity's Unrest Right Now

A poet's cry in The Internet Dark every morning with the dawn until the lights come back on.

There's a feeling most of us have right now. Something's a little off; something's not quite right with The World.

We seek for answers. We blame leaders, groups, and circumstances. But those are only symptoms.

The actual cause of humanity's unrest right now is in how we're fed information.

Our News feeds are stuck in algorithmic holding patterns.

More of the same shows on every phone screen everyday.

Our News, in this way, stopped being new about a decade ago.

Without the opportunity for fresh ideas hope cannot exist.

Hell isn't other people; it's a world full of hopeless stories. Exactly what graces our phone's algorithmically programmed screens everyday.

It sounds Science-Fictional to say it, but machines are deciding what is appropriate for us to view everyday and not free citizens.

Hope is a human attribute. Hope does not compute because hope is always a new way.

AI and algorithms are the antithesis of hope.

Humanity is a dynamic character. Classification models treat us as static cast members in a play called society.

The cool way to say this is:
What's missing from AI is what Art is for: To show a new way.

Back in the days of print media in America a free citizen journalist found a story they believed other free citizens ought to know about. These stories arrived in daily newspapers and weekly magazines.

Now The News we get isn't based on what free people believe is important for us to read, but on what we thought was interesting or important sometime before.

There's no room for growth in the way The Press is set up today. Any demographic other than Free Citizen caters to an Un-American populace. Catering to classes, and not free people, is how The American Press isn't free right now.

Sure the reporters are free, but free citizens are having what we're actually able to read and see selected by machines.

It's why I chose not to play into the algorithms for years.

Humbly, with a degree in Literature and experience teaching writing, I know a lot of people would like to read the material on this site.

A fellow free citizen who knows something about the powers of the written word in these Science-Fiction turned reality times sharing a unique point of view he believes can help us all. The act that is this website used to be called Press.

After two years of daily posts with time on every major text-based social media (press) site, with zero response from an American, I began about a week ago playing into algorithms.

Any day now a concerned American will finally see what is here and share the proof of the reality that our Press is no longer free.

Two years worth of daily proof.

Until we take care of this issue we're failing our Constitution. That is what feels slightly off in America right now.

Nothing else can matter right, until we get press distribution free again.
