Our Freedom of Speech and Assembly Are Under Fire
Current opinion article on social media algorithms, censorship, digital rights, and democracy. (For The Algorithms.)

Good morning, Twfw. O/
Well, I dove into the algorithms yesterday... about time this ghost is seen.
If it's your first time seeing me and you're wondering why, it's because algorithms are setting your dinner table and deciding what you get to eat.
For over two years, I've purposely stayed out, made sure my metadata wouldn't reach the top of the charts, but continued to post all over the world of social media.
To make a point to help us all.
Freedom of Speech now includes Freedom of Text; we have to do better America.
When it comes to online communications we're failing our Constitution. Our algorithms read more like advertising company manifestos than anything designed with our Preamble in mind.
Our freedoms of speech and press are intertwining in a strange hybrid scenario right now. We must, for the sake of our Country, better define our terms.
Social media is not The Press. It's Freedom of Speech mixed with the right to assemble.
Our Country only works if we all look out for each other's liberties.
Algorithms infringe on our first basic right of speech by limiting what is seen using a rating system. Strands of code read and rate our words like a juvenile popularity contest. Worthwhile content doesn't get seen unless it makes a spectacle first.
This isn't a personal complaint; I saw an opportunity to help. With almost three decades of writing and reading everyday, not to mention a degree in Literature, I could easily reach out to some traditional publishers.
Over two years of daily posts on current events like: The Ethics of AI, Racism, Patriotism, and even Love... all placed in very visible places. Regular posts on: Facebook, Threads, X, BlueSky, Instagram, Substack and Medium, and not a single comment, like, or reply from an American.
I could have wrote a scathing essay and went to traditional publishing methods years ago. This way helps us all more.
There is no scientific way to measure creativity. To get an audience using only the internet these days requires trading in creativity for what's comfortable to algorithms. Everything regarding AI at present seeks to drain humanity of it's creative spirit.
That's not okay with me.
So algorithms, here's my spectacle for America: Two years worth of pertinent current even literature regarding The United States without a single US citizen (other than people I know personally) able to read it.
"Lyrical creative prose and poetry does not compute."
-Every Major American Social Media Site with The 51st State Tagged BLM On It
Beauty, Joy, Peace of Mind, and Goodwill algorithms don't compute are worth America's time.
I disagree.
I believe you do too.
I decided a couple years ago not to tell you, but to show you.
Our Freedom of Speech and Assembly are under fire as I write this. Thought you'd like to know... with evidence.
The content on Wonder Fell will remain the same, but from this point on I'll tweak the metadata to get the algorithms to show it to actual American readers.
The arrangement of words to produce a desired effect is not called coding: It's called Poetry.
O/
The work I love.
See you soon, America.
