Measuring Beauty

My Scientific friends, if you ever wondered what poets and artists are up to, now you know.

Measuring Beauty

Good morning, Twfw. O/

Rain. Gutters plop, drop, and spill. The Earth drinks, this poet thinks, and arranges the dreams into symbols called words.

Thanks for joining me.

This power we share, to read and write, do we take it for granted?

Oftentimes, yes, we do.

What is it we actually do when we write and read a sentence?

The process transcends the Scientific Method. Science depends on the reality of what reading and writing do to exist.

Certainly we can measure what was wrote, but certainly there's a lot more to write.

Life... that force, that music, that makes trees and flowers grow, cats meow, birds tweet, fish swim, the world dance! keeps us reading and writing.

The same way an oak reaches for The Sun, so we are compelled to share our experience of Life.

We help each other live more comfortably with our measurements.

Practically, and poetically, Science only exists to give us options to the weather.

I'm thankful for it. The house is warm and dry while the rain falls outside due to the labors of many Scientists.

But any minute now The Sun will crest over the horizon and it will be beautiful.

It happens every morning, that supernova at the center of our galaxy brings the light of life, and every time it is beautiful.

How do we measure Beauty?

My Scientific friends, if you ever wondered what poets and artists are up to, now you know:

Measuring Beauty.

The gray sunlight of a rainy day. Gray speaks to transition. The rain brings change. Growth, we sometimes call it, but every oak and human husk grows slightly askew from what went before.

What does subjectivity have to do with Evolution?

Everything.

My experience of what's beautiful differs from yours. Sugar is sweet. A lemon is sour. Every sunrise is Beautiful.

Taste is a subjective reality.

We all have the ability to recognize beautiful moments. Some of us work at it and master the trait.

I believe Life should be beautiful because it can be. The reason a beautiful experience brings us wonder and joy is the same way and reason every tree knows how to reach for The Sun. We head towards what is beautiful to live our best life.

My major living concern with AI is there's no possibility for what's beautiful in it.

We stepped away from Beauty to measure predictability. I think this is a greater disservice to humanity than we realize.

Beauty, the best I can tell after years of study, is the expression and experience of Life working right.

A dandelion in full bloom from cracks in concrete is always a beautiful site. Life persisting in the harshest conditions is always a stunning testament to the true powers in the world...

Over to other words on other pages.

Congratulations, again, for reading.
