I'm training algorithms at last! So a recap for those new here:

Every morning I share words of peace, joy, intelligence, and hope in The Internet's most popular social places. I purposefully don't cater their distribution to algorithms.

After two years of sharing my handwritten morning journal entries with the world every single day, I've not received a like, comment, heart, or troll from a human being.

Recently, a week or so ago, I began catering to corporate algorithms. A few hearts and thumbs up are the results.

Why do such a thing?

To make a point with evidence regarding the true state of the health of our information online.

About five years ago I was shadow-banned by an algorithm for posting an anti-racist poem on Medium.com. Here's a link to that poem.

Shadow-banning, in case you're unfamiliar with the term, is the act of an Internet Publication making a contributor's words disappear without telling the author. The writer can see their words on the site, but no one else can.

I was never told by corporate of any action taken; they just shut me off.

Before I could seek proper legal action, I was in a major car accident which involved years of healing to remedy.

Learning to walk again being one of those remedies.

The healing process created less than ideal circumstances for traditional means of legal action. I had to get creative. Luckily, I'm a poet. Creative is what I do.

How about sharing words most good people would like to read in places they should be able to read them, but can't because of the way the internet is set up?

For over two years, I did just that.

The internet isn't free. In America, we use it to distribute our media. So: The Press in The United States is no longer free.

I share good news and thoughts with my neighbors and fellow citizens every morning and they can't see it because of the way information sharing is structured via corporate algorithms.

Over two years of daily proof on this website.

Is information media free again yet?

There's plenty of writing here on the hazardous ramifications of trusting machines to do our thinking for us.

Would you let an encyclopedia live your life for you?

Knowledge of the past is helpful, but without dreams of a better future people can never grow. Trusting our information solely to machines is an anti-evolutionary act.

What's most important for humanity must always be decided by humanity to be successful.

Back to working on more traditional lines for a poet. I look forward to the day anyone can actually read them.
