I Learned to Walk Again

Good morning, The Wonderfell Way.
Happy Death Day. O/
Four years ago an SUV traveling around fifty miles an hour crossed a double yellow and drove right into my driver's seat.
I flatlined and woke up three days later in an ICU with my left leg split in two and a hospital team of doctors and nurses waiting for me to be conscious enough to operate to put it back together.
Bone now wraps itself around the metal rod connecting my left knee to my ankle.
It took about a year, but I learned to walk again.
The nerve damage to my left side is finally feeling healed. Evidently nerves required more time to heal than my nearly severed leg.
Damaged nerve endings can cause a whole world of strange symptoms.
These past four years are a catalog called: A World of Strange Symptoms.
I work in as much peace and quiet as I can make and let the healing finish its job.
There's been more than Ghostly reasons for my Ghostly ways. Anonymity has been part of my medical treatment plan.
The idea is to write.
Discussing writing with others is a joy I look forward to, but not at the expense of my health.
The idea is to write consistently.
Nerves are an interesting thing to heal. Modern medicine still has so many question marks on them.
Nerves respond to stress... as much peace and quiet as I can make....
The idea is to write, to keep working.
A journal rarely going personal is ironic.
Irony is a poet's business; we're right at home.
Today went personal.
Thanks for reading, take care and make a wonderful day.
