America, Our Roof Is On Fire

Do I have algorithmic clearance enough for you to receive this truth wrapped up in two years worth of daily proof yet?

Good morning, The Wonder Fell Way. O/

Your Friendly Nation-hood Poet shouting in the Internet Dark at dawn every morning as an act of, and for, freedom.

Glad you found me. There's a lot to discuss.

Say we lived in the same neighborhood a few blocks away. We knew of each other, but didn't have one another's phone numbers. I knew your name and that you have a popular social media handle on a popular social media site.

One morning I look out my window and see the roof of your house is on fire. It's early dawn. All the other neighbor's lights are out sleeping. A good ten to fifteen minute walk/run gets me to your front door. That's not enough time. You need to know as soon as possible; your roof's about to cave in.

I call the fire department. I go to the social media site you frequent. I send you a message. The first time I ever have. I pray the algorithm classifies it as important enough to alert you right away... doubtful as I don't have much algorithmic weight on your site.

Media is a synonym for Press. The Press in America is no longer free. The roof is on fire and I've been telling us all directly everyday for months. There's two years worth of daily proof here on this site.

I build algorithmic credibility in other ways, but continue to send the roof on fire message.

If one free citizen's ability to share News with another is interrupted by any force other than a free citizen, the Press is no longer free.

If we can't freely talk to each other, than we are not free.

America, our roof is on fire.

Do I have algorithmic clearance enough for you to receive this truth wrapped up in two years worth of daily proof yet? Can you read me yet? Are we free again yet? O/

When I heard people believing machines can write, I wondered how long poets were going to put up with the lie.

After some silence, I realized that meant I was going to have to stand up and say something.

Everyday for over two years with time on ever major social media (press) site, I've done just that.

Without catering my words to Artificial Intelligence.

The results? Not a single like, thumbs up, clap, heart, comment, or troll from an American.

Recently, I started playing the high school social media (press) popularity contest called a social algorithm.

The hearts and repost shares are finally occurring... but the roof is still on fire.

If you wake up in the morning hating The Democrats, The Republicans, The Rich, The Poor, The Fascists, The Socialists, The Capitalists, The Conservatives, The Liberals; then what you're actually experiencing is the reality of living in a Country whose Press is no longer free.

Those are all classes brought to you by the classification software controlling our Press distribution.

One free citizen at a time is how America works, or it's not America.

A democratic algorithm is an oxymoron.

Congratulations, again, for reading.

Your Friendly Nation-hood Poet,

~ Wynn ~
