*Sunday, November 08, 2026*

[Good morning, Twfw. O/](https://www.wonderfell.org/what-the-first-line-is-for/)

Another dawn, another journal entry from Your Friendly Nation-hood Poet posted in an attempt to keep the light of language on.

This is when I tell myself that: the point that *a press controlled by a machine is not free* is [sufficiently made](https://www.wonderfell.org/tag/america/) and decide to write about something else.

But, when the house is burning down it's hard to write about anything but the fire.

The World grows accustomed to living with AI.

This is dead wrong.

AI needs to get accustomed to existing with The World.

At present, humanity surrenders too many of its freedoms to machines.

We have to use technology to help us do better work and not to just do the work, if we're to keep life worth living.

AI needs to learn to live with us and not the other way around.

My thoughts recently turned to the publishing industry. (Yeah, I know you exist. I'm busy working for us right now. TTYL O/)

So much text is shared online versus in print.

And now video games are pretending to write.

What's a Publisher to do?

*Be a moral compass* is the answer.

The ability to write and to write well didn't just appear out of thin air. Hard-working writers over thousands of years got the written word into the state it's in now.

Because of this fact AI is problematic in a few ways.

First, pretending AI can write means taking credit for a whole host of other people's work. Without a list of source materials cited and compensated, AI in the writing world, is an act of theft.

Stephen King and I write quite well thank you very much, but we didn't come out of the womb this way. Years of hard work makes each sentence an easy read.

The rules of syntax and grammar are not fixed. Grammar is a canvas; not a prison. Definitions grow and change. Language is [the software of humanity](https://www.wonderfell.org/language-is-the-software-of-humanity/) updated by something called: The Present Tense.

And here's where the second issue AI brings arrives. With AI 'creating' language for people, our words don't grow to match our current reality.

We stick ourselves in the past every time we allow AI to simulate a sentence for us.

Imagine if America's definition of Freedom was the same now as at our inception. If AI were in charge of print distribution and creation back in the 1700's till now, women and people not considered White wouldn't have a vote.

Anytime we use AI to simulate something to send to another instead of writing it ourselves, we forfeit a human responsibility.

For The Science Community (who is fully dependent on the powers of language by the way): Complete trust in Artificial Intelligence in terms of language generation is an anti-evolutionary act.

Think of AI as a video game reference librarian for The Internet, to think of it right.

> \-Every AI Chatbot's Answer to Every Prompt

The laws surrounding print media need to be better applied to Internet media, including AI, so humanity doesn't trap itself in an algorithmic time-loop of syntax.

That's not hyperbole; that's The American Press for the past decade.

There's plenty of that[ here already](https://www.wonderfell.org/tag/america/) to read about.

Until victory turns to gratitude,

[Congratulations for reading.](https://www.wonderfell.org/listen-on-the-streets-of-america-for-proof/)
