# I'm Not Working for Free; I'm Working for Freedom

Good morning, Twfw. O/

Dawn. Drizzle. Soft light on full elms.

The first acorns from oaks dropped the other day. 

Poets swoon about trees almost as much as we do the moon.

And right we should. What moonlight and love can do takes our breath away. What the sunrise and trees do allows us to breathe.

Someone ought to say thank you with some recognition.

No problem, I've got you.

Chances are you believe you have better things to do than thank the Sun, the Moon, and Trees...

Like doing anything and everything they make possible.

Don't forget about water. The rain. The oceans. That puddle. We couldn't muddle or dance without a chance now and then to step in water.

There's no traditional theme to Wonder Fell. Just a poet setting down his first thoughts at sunrise everyday.

I thought it might be a comfort to have a daily reminder of what writing is for and why a machine can never actually do it.

OI rhymes with joy and toy. Fitting, as it is a great time coming up with and playing with new ideas.

Not much talk on AI this morning; [I've said my peace](https://www.wonderfell.org/tag/ai/). Now it's just the practical matter of getting the words to people who need to read them most.

Anyone who depends on the Internet for their media is who needs them the most.

I write because I love to. But it's also my work. A lot of my Country will be upset I was kept from getting paid because of the ways online information systems are arranged.

That's also part of the point I make.

After spending most of my adult life [battling a crippling auto-immune condition into remission](https://www.wonderfell.org/it-wasnt-always-like-this/), I got used to a life without much in the way of financial well-being.

So these past couple of years, while not entirely comfortable, aren't nothing new for me.

I'm not working for free; I'm working for Freedom.

It's best someone shows the reality of the implications of trusting our Press to machines has as soon as possible.

Writers and Artists feel it. But we can't demographic or classify a creative spirit, so we're overlooked by the very cause of the issue.

All because the author doesn't cater his Free Press to machines.

I'm happy to help. There are too many beautiful voices being overlooked by software best designed to help them out.

Think of the wonderful literature and new ideas America could be surfing in if compassionate humans and not machines were distributing Our Press right now!

I wrote a poem regarding the current reality of the American Press yesterday. I'll [link it here](https://www.wonderfell.org/ai-cant-do-this/) after I post it later today. There's still some Geometry to workout with it. The shape of a poem is part of the experience of the poem.

Historically, and every AI bot would agree, the health of a culture can be seen in how it treats its poets.

Ancient Greece started to ignore them, then started their fall... for instance.
