O/ Sunrise like hundreds before recorded on this site. Today the birds are quiet; this poet still sings. A steady murmur of interstate Saturday morning traffic picks up. People head to weekend work or end of Summer vacation plans. The Sun sets the stage with the palest blue hue, hints of amber trace the horizon. A gentle peace is here, a place safe for laughter and daydreams and whatever love is all about. Helicopter seeds spin down from trees at the slightest breeze. The first sign Autumn's on its way. Back to what's Beautiful. To see humanity suffer and know the cause and do nothing about it, doesn't sit well with me. But what can one poet do? I can write. A lot. The issue with the modern world isn't a lack of good people; it's access to them. Our algorithms lack the capacity for empathy, and so the state of all the media we share. Where's hope in our stories of each day? For the love of the Tech-Industry, how do we quantify hope? Hope, empathy, concern... these qualities have to be in the reader to be recognized and weighted as valuable. As brilliant and impressive as software may be, it can never care. A computation of concern doesn't actually feel concerned. There simply is no way for a machine to judge what is truly important for humanity because it is not human. Hope is always a new experience, always felt more than understood at first. Hell isn't other people; it's a world full of hopeless stories, also known as what passes for machine distributed media these days. What good is there to believe in, in the words we share? The human spirit can only take so much dearth. In America, we plan on voting. But this time around voting only alleviates a symptom and doesn't cure the disease. Our spirits are raised for a short time believing we can do something to help us all heal. But as long as our media continues to be run by machines incapable of hope, the issues will keep coming back. The Press exists for people to share pertinent stories with each other. Pertinence, in a free state, has to be defined by a free citizen. Otherwise, it ceases to be free. A robot can't tell you how to be free, A fish can't climb a tree. There are plenty of things AI can help with, how best to live free isn't one of them. Freedom is always a matter of the present tense. Artificial Intelligence lives in the past. Even a nano-second ago isn't right now. Only what is alive can best determine what is best right now. It feels esoteric to talk about at times, but it's happening right now. Machines are determining the content of our conversations. That sentence is the root cause of all the major problems in America at present. If you're a doctor, that's the disease and our citizens spend their days on symptom management. To truly heal our Country we must put people back in control of media distribution. Let AI handle demographics and numbers. Language and what words can do is always first and only a human concern.
